Tatum Tot Spice

So I don’t pant very much, the Mum says it’s because it’s winter and plus collies with our thin noses and our thin tongues, we just don’t need to. Plus, we don’t like it when it’s too hot, we like it when it’s too cold!

And anyway if it’s too hot and we get in the mud and dirt we need baths in vessel sinks and ooo I just hate baths and so it’s better when it’s icy cold and then there is no mud!

So this is a cute picture of me with my tongue from when I went to the Hooman New Year Pawty and had fun playing with Sadie. We played so much even out in the snow that I got hot and I panted to cool myself off!

And the Mum took this picture of me standing on the top of the stairs.  I was standing on the top of the stairs, not her.  She was standing down the stairs so she could take fun pictures of me. And I am the prettiest anyway so lots of pictures of me are always super good things!

So do you have a long tongue that you pant with to cool yourself off when you are hot?  It’s such a good thing to do, panting to cool off. And stepping in water.  I will step in water to cool off my feets but I won’t swim in it. Ewww! I don’t like to swim!

So the Mum has been trying to teach me something with the clicker and the tennis ball but I’m not quite figuring out what she is trying to teach me to do yet. Sometimes I just want to put my Bluetooth headset on and ignore her, but when she gets the treats out then it’s oh so hard to ignore her!

This picture is of me biting the Mum’s shirt but I don’t think that is what she wants me to do!  I open my mouth by the tennis ball and I get a click and a treat but then sometimes the Mum doesn’t give me a click until she pushes the tennis ball right into my mouth! But I don’t get it quite yet. I know I will, as long as the Mum keeps teaching me, but sometimes it’s hard to have anything at all in my mouth when the next thing to go in is a yummy dog log treat! Dog log is my favorite treat too. Sometimes the Mum gives me other stuff but I just like dog log!

Oh I like tuna too.  I like to steal big chunks of tuna off her salad when she’s not lookin’! LOL!

We are doing an agility trial this weekend and it’s three days and it’s a lot of work. My brother Levi gets to do two runs a day, and my brother Chase gets to do six runs a day! It’s a lot but they are having fun. Me, I get to do pre-agility work stuff. This is one of the things and the Mum says I’m getting really good at it. When she says the word Stay and then she puts her palm in front of my nose, then walks off, I’m not supposed to move at all!

It’s really hard to not move.  But I try to do my best ’cause when I don’t move, the Mum comes back and gives me a super yummy treat. So when I don’t move I get a treat. And if I do move then the Mum puts me back to where I was supposed to be Staying and I don’t like when she touches my collar, so that’s icky. But then I sit and don’t move again and I get treats again.

The Mum says we have to practice this a lot and I’ll get better and better at it. We also walked around the agility place for a while and it was hard to pay attention to the Mum with all the fun dogs to play with. But the Mum said I did good and then I got treats too. And we got to run in the snow a little bit but Chase’s feet hurt so we didn’t do it as long today as yesterday.

The Mum says she might leave me home tomorrow but I don’t really want to stay home, I like to go and practice our fun games with treats!

So the Mum came home today and then Aunt Christy came over and she brought Charlie with! Charlie is a border collie girl who has been at the shelter for three months. That’s a long time! A really nice lady at the shelter liked Charlie and wanted to save her, so, she contacted Utah Collie Rescue. And even though UCR usually only does collies like me, we are gonna have Charlie stay with us a couple of days until she can go to another foster home with Border Collie Rescue.

The Mum didn’t get very good pictures of her but she wants to post more over on her blog Tip Tail, anyway. But this is Charlie. And she’s black and white and a little bit fat! She didn’t want to eat dinner, but us dogs don’t like to eat much when we come to a new home, so that’s okay. She can eat later. She has enough fat to last her a while anyway! LOL She’s not skinny like me!So when Charlie came to explore the back yard, I used all my good play moves on her but she didn’t play with me. Hrmph! Well, she better.

But I’m boss of her, and just a couple of minutes ago I let her know… I growled at her then I bit at her and made her run away! The Mum said I was a bad girl and wasn’t supposed to do that to foster dogs. Charlie just was a wimp and ran from me. She didn’t even fight back! Which is good because I’m boss girl here (we won’t talk about Lucy) and I get to tell all the other dogs what to do!

But I’ll try to be nice to her.  The Mum says she hasn’t had a home like I have for the last year and a half. But I was also worried that Charlie would eat some of the Tuna the Mum had. I really like Tuna and I want it all for me! I even got a big chunk of it out of the Mum’s salad before she knew it!  He he. I like to do that.

I know I put up more pictures of me than of Charlie but hey, I’m cuter anyways.  He he.  I’m a collie girl!

This is a picture of me and my brother Chase from when we went to the flyball tournament last weekend. It was a lot of fun but the Mum doesn’t get my treats that I really like. Yeah, I’m kinda picky for sure!  But I like the treats I like and new ones just are too weird when I’m in a stressful or different situation!  So the Mum was looking around online to find treats, and she found Dog Toy Coupons instead, which isn’t too bad but I don’t really play with toys all that much. I want treats!

So she found a place called Savings.com that has lots of cool coupons, even Big Dogs Coupons which are fun because I’m a big dog!  Though the Mum says I’m not as big a dog as some other dogs. That maybe I’m even a small collie girl but still I’m bigger than some other dogs so I think I’m a big dog too!

So the last place she found for the coupons was for Entirely Pets Coupons and they have treats! So I told the Mum you better go and buy treats because I like them best of all and them maybe I won’t hide in the tunnels or run off at the flyball tournament to find good treats.  Wooo I like treats!

The Mum is a dork and forgot her camera again! So I made her take pictures of me with her cell phone camera, which doesn’t make me nearly as pretty as the good camera.

But anyway, at least she got these pictures! I think the tall pointy thing is way super fun! The Mum said something like Frame or something went I went up one side and down the other. And I do it fast! The Mum says it’s really good for me to do it fast, and then I run to my mat at the bottom and I get a treat when I lay down. The Mum says this is just the exact right way to do it!

But then I went over a jump thingy and I did what the Mum called Knocked A Bar and it kinda freaked me out so I didn’t want to go over a jump again. But the Mum said I gotta the jump wasn’t going to get me. So the Mum takes my collar and gives me a treat and then I do the jumps again, but I really hate it when she gets my collar! So then after a while I go hide in the tunnels ’cause she can’t get my collar from there! But she gets me out with a treat ’cause the treats are yummy even though I really hate it when she takes my collar.

I always did hate that, even before I lived here. I used to hate it way worse. It’s not really too bad, it doesn’t hurt or anything I just go EWWW I don’t like it Mum stop! But the Mum does it anyway and tries to make it not so bad by giving me treats but I think I will always hate the collar grab.

I ran around the agility barn some and it was fun, and went up the dog walk and the teeter and in the tunnels and over the jumps. I was tired after we were done! But it was fun!

Then the Mum went and bought some high protien dog food for Lucy and Angel ’cause they are getting old, and the  barcode scanner didn’t work and the Mum wanted it for free but we had to pay anyway!  Oh well! I hope I get some of that yummy food!

Okay so way cool don’t you think, that I actually did flyball! The Mum said that I didn’t do a very good job, because I went over just one jump then I bunny hopped off the lanes and went “Woo Hoo” and ran to our crating area. But hey I did one whole jump and it made me super tired!  And so then at the hotel the Mum took this cheesy picture with her phone and it’s not very good, but it does look pretty cute of me doesn’t it!

The Mum has a little video of me doing the one jump and then running off like I like to do. And hopefully if the Mum gets off her hooman bottom she’ll post it up so you can all see.  It’s fun but short you have to watch for me quick!

I had fun at Flyball. It was fun to go down with Marley and back with Dylan and spend time with Aunt Christy, the Mum, and my brother Chase.  He did super good my brother, though he got tired too. There was one time when I got to run around in the horse area with Oreo my Border Collie friend and Kibu my something friend and we had fun but the Mum didn’t take any pictures of that either! She’s slackin’!

Hey! I’m back! And the Mum told me I have to blog about something else before I blog about the flyball stuff we did, and I really want to blog about that so here goes about this first.

The Dad here needs a job. And the Mum says that, well, he really needs school first, and to get a Project Management certificate so that other hoomans will want to give him a job. And so I surfed to their page to see if I can encourage the Dad to get one of these! ‘Cause Saint Joseph’s University has some great programs. And the Dad can be a Construction Manager, because he’s done stuff like that before at his old job. And these guys can train him up so he makes like $70,000 a year and I guess that’s a lot of dog food!

See if the Dad, or any hooman, goes to this cool school you can learn stuff right online on the computer! And then get the Certificate and then people want you to work for them. That’s sweet! I just want to work for me and food and treats but that’s another story.
