We are doing an agility trial this weekend and it’s three days and it’s a lot of work. My brother Levi gets to do two runs a day, and my brother Chase gets to do six runs a day! It’s a lot but they are having fun. Me, I get to do pre-agility work stuff. This is one of the things and the Mum says I’m getting really good at it. When she says the word Stay and then she puts her palm in front of my nose, then walks off, I’m not supposed to move at all!
It’s really hard to not move. But I try to do my best ’cause when I don’t move, the Mum comes back and gives me a super yummy treat. So when I don’t move I get a treat. And if I do move then the Mum puts me back to where I was supposed to be Staying and I don’t like when she touches my collar, so that’s icky. But then I sit and don’t move again and I get treats again.
The Mum says we have to practice this a lot and I’ll get better and better at it. We also walked around the agility place for a while and it was hard to pay attention to the Mum with all the fun dogs to play with. But the Mum said I did good and then I got treats too. And we got to run in the snow a little bit but Chase’s feet hurt so we didn’t do it as long today as yesterday.
The Mum says she might leave me home tomorrow but I don’t really want to stay home, I like to go and practice our fun games with treats!
Hi I'm Tatum and welcome to my blog! I'm a smooth sable collie, the prettiest kind! The Mum said a blog would be a fun thing for me to do, I can tell everyone how I'm gonna learn some things called agility, and obedience, and flyball.. and go on walks and play in the park and bark at the TV and lots of fun stuff!

Hurt feet, it must be a common theme; just ask Essex. Sounds like you are having fun in the snow.

Looks like you are doing an awesome job with your “stay”, Tatum! Especially at a trial when there are so many distractions! Good job!
Layla says she couldn’t agree more with the title of your post! She is working on her “wait” too.

Waiting isn’t to hard….I learned that when I was very little. It is boring though…especially when there are cool things happening all around you.
Wow staying still is so hard, you is super clever to do it for long!
Good luck with the trial – I never did well on the no-moving thing, either, and I never could keep my trap shut. It’s not my fault these human don’t understand DOG! Well, i’m sure you’ll do beautifully.

Hi Lily! It’s called a Halti and it’s also called a Head Halter. It’s like a halter on a horse. It doesn’t restrict my mouth at all, I can still open my mouth and eat and drink and even bite if I wanted to! But I don’t like to bite, I’m a nice collie. The Mum says it calms me down like when a mommy dog puts her mouth on her puppy’s muzzles. They are a good thing for the Mum to use!
I HATE playing the stay game!!! I don’t have time to sit and not chase my toys! lol

Thank you so much for telling me what that is around your beautiful nose you beauty you!
