So this is my first agility run that I did yesterday. It’s good too but I didn’t understand a couple things the Mum wanted me to do but anyway it still would have been a good qualifying run!
This one is a little bit blurry too again but you can kinda see me in it anyway. Today I stayed home and got to do some nice rest and snoozing. Tomorrow I get to go again and do more agility and it’ll be fun too! There will be some energy auditor certification people around too at the fairgrounds, they are everywhere! And I like to bite them in the butt if they come by! Hehe okay not really but anyway it’s fun to do agility and see all the people.
Okay so I’m the best agility collie ever and I win! Check me out, how cool am I? The Mum says there’s no real Q for prenovice ’cause that’s what I did, but Aunt Marie says that I won first place! I knew I would! So I believe Aunt Marie and not the Mum.
I think maybe I’ll have new careers doing agility because I’m so good at it. The Mum… she didn’t think I’d do this good. But it was really super fun! And this was my second run, and I was so happy I got to do it again, that I dragged the Mum back to the ring!
It’s kinda blurry because the hoomans were goofy and had the camera on the wrong setting. But you get the idea, of how great I did!
Yup, it’s going to happen this coming weekend! If you want to see how good I do at agility, then you’ll have to come watch or see the video later!!!
This picture was taken of me a year ago at the agility trial that I am going to make my debut in this coming weekend. Cool fun huh? I’m a smooth collie girl gonna do agility! I’m going to do really well. Though if the jumps are not fun looking then I might want to go around them instead of over them. But that won’t be my fault, that will be the fault of the people who set them up.
Maybe I’ll go tumbling like a compost tumbler and spin and weave and dodge and confuse everyone! But it’ll be fun anyway. My first time in a ring. Woo Hoo! The Mum says shes nervous now but I’m not. I’ll have fun!
Sometimes the Mum worries about me a little bit because sometimes I get really tired. But she doesn’t know what it’s like to be a collie girl and get super tired! I play and play all day with Jet and Titus and then I need a big deep sleep! Or sometimes when the Mum takes me to agility training and I have to think really hard and run around a lot, I get tired there too! I think the Mum should give me some Black and Mild cigars after but she won’t, she says they are not good for collies.
So okay whatever then I sleep on the dog bed on the dog shelf and the Mum put a pillow under my head for me isn’t she nice? Yeah the Mum is pretty nice and I like to hang out with her, and then get a nice deep sleep!
So here I am doing agility! Aren’t I the best ever! I think so! The Mum thinks I’m a little bit slow and I need more speed and forward focus. And I get a little distracted and I kinda like to wander off and go around jumps instead of over them. But the Mum is learning how to do agility my way!
Aren’t I awful good! the Mum says I’m sometimes just the awful part but she’s just silly because I’m such a great smooth collie agility working girl! What do you all think? Maybe I’ll just stick the Mum in a shipping box and send her off somewhere so I can do agility all by myself. Heck I am so good I hardly need her to tell me where to go!
Here is a picture of me getting a really good look at Jet’s teeth. Aren’t they shiny and white? We like to play and Jet puts out his teeth and I just laugh at him because he looks funny! He does it to the Mum too and she laughs at him too because he is a silly puppy of just eight months old.
So anyway last time we did agility fun things was last Friday and guess what? The Mum put up lots of jumps in a row in lots of turns and corners and things and I did them all! And she also put in the Teeter Totter which is really fun and I push it down and it goes BANG and I don’t care or get scared.
This Friday my Aunt Marie is going to come play agility stuff with us and bring her little shelties with and I get to show them all how good I’m doing. I’ll get it on the video machine too so I can post it all up and show you guys how much fun and how good I am at doing agility!
So last Friday and last Sunday the Mum took me to do some agility training. This picture is of me on the way fun A-Frame thingy that I get to climb up and over and then lay down on the bottom side for a cookie treat yummy thing. I do it really well and don’t I look cute up there? The Mum thought it would scare me but nope! I like the A-Frame!
So anyway we did some agility training and we did the jumps, I think I said this a little bit before. And on Friday I did some of the jumps but thought I’d go around some because that’s easier even if I don’t get treats for it. But then Sunday we went to the place that usually makes me really nervous, but it was fun this time! I got to follow a Springer named Ringo around a bit and sniff stuff. Then I did some agility with the Mum and guess what? I did five jumps in a row! The Mum was so proud of me and it was kinda fun really. So maybe I’ll do more jumps too, jumping over them instead of going around.
The Mum only is having me jump 16″ instead of 20″ like they rules say I should. But she’ll put me in preferred because I am a preferred collie and the best so I get a special jump height!
So the Mum was proud that I did five whole jumps in a row and maybe next time she’ll have me jump more than five and maybe I’ll do all them too!
The Mum got these really yummy big chewies that she calls Bully Sticks. Mmmm they are so yummy! So I like to lay on the couch and chew on mine. It lasts a really long time and I usually don’t like it when the Mum says everyone is done and takes them all away! But we get to chew on them for a long time and that is super pawesome! And I really love to lay on the comfy blankets on the couch when I chew. We have so many comfy beds and blankets to lay on it’s just really super nice.
Oh and yesterday the Mum took me to an agility place and we did some agilities. It was fun too. There was no plasma mounts there but the A Frame was there and the Dog Walk and lots of jumps. I’m not too crazy about jumps though. The Mum says she has some ideas to convince me that they are more fun to go over than to go around. I dunno though. I like the A Frame and the Dog Walk and the Teeter much better than the jumps!
We’ll see if she can convince me the jumps are fun too, though!
So the Mum was talking to me the other day and she said “Tatum, we should be ready for agility by next March!” And I looked at her and didn’t know that she would be right or not, because that’s far and that’s close and we’ll need to practice a lot until then, so the Mum learns how to tell me where to go! Maybe if we both were wearing a Bluetooth headset she could whisper it to me when we are running amok around.
This isn’t my Mum in this picture, this is my Aunt Edie who teaches my Mum how to tell me where to go. And this is the dog walk and I think it’s a really super fun thing to walk on. But it’s gonna get cold really soon and so we won’t have the nice green grass to run on anymore. And the snow is too slippery. And so we won’t be able to practice so the Mum knows what she’s doing.
But either way it’ll be fun. I have been to the agility places before and they are not scary, they are really fun and I eat lots of treats there. OH and the Mum made Tuna Brownies (my very favorites!) and put them on top of the fridge last night and forgot them there, so I have been smelling them all day and I really want some now!
So here is me doing what the Mum calls Weave Polls for agility. I don’t really get it yet but I think I’m figuring it out. This is a three and a half minute video of the Mum and Aunt Edie trying to let me figure them out by myself. At first I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do to get to the Mum and the yummy treats she has but then I start to understand!
So see how smart I am and how I figure it out? With all this weaving in and out of the polls I’ll get some big weight loss I think! The Mum says she’s gonna do this every day with me now so I can learn how to do them. And wiggle and move weird through them. And then she’ll move the guide thingies away as I understand better what I’m doing.
So it’s kinda fun and I think it’s weird too but I’m gonna figure it out!
